I first came across Plastic poles last year – In 5 years of repairing poles it was a first. They were from an Outwell tent – and challenged me for a while – however where there’s a will there’s a way & worked out how to do it (Puzzle – love it !) :).
Another set arrived last week – with an end that I had not seen on a tent before – thought perhaps a gazebo? Or play tent ? Either way I set to work …
& into the freezer to chill . . . .
About 2 inches of the end of the plastic pole had snapped off into the previous pole – the white inner easily came out although the plastic covering had remained stuck ! After using a few different tools – screwdriver, pliers x 3 – swirling half a blade of scissors did the trick to remove it.
Fortunately a standard fibre glass pole was compatible with the plastic ones, so they were used to replace the broken plastic one – although 2 were used to cover the length. Plastic poles come in a variety of diameters & this is not always as straight forward.
